Living Anew Therapeutic Massage is the product of 9 years in the business of bodywork and massage as well as lifetime of experiences beginning with childhood sports, college athletics, spirituality and healing, beautiful teachers, and a car wreck. We all have our stories to share. A past which brought us to the person we see in the mirror. What if we loved those stories and let them go? You know, focused on the present and the steps we are taking to create the tomorrow we want. Literally, Living Anew. To live in a new or different and usually a more positive way. Through a combination of structural massage and bodywork techniques to release physical tension and stress management  and self-care education, hopefully you, too, will begin to Live Anew.

About Megan

Owner, Megan Crystal, would like everyone to choose health and wellness for themselves through Massage Therapy and Bodywork, stress management by way of exercise, sleep, and proper nutrition, as well as positive thought. Living Anew Therapeutic Massage is dedicated to empowering you to do just that.

Hey Y'all!

I am the owner and operator, janitor, educator, head LMT, and the Mother Cupper of Living Anew Therapeutic Massage. I have been practicing Therapeutic Massage for nearly 14 years now. I began my massage training (unknowingly) in 1999 when I entered the University of Oklahoma.  While at OU, I completed a Bachelors Degree of Science in Health and Sports Sciences while throwing the Shot Put and Discus for the OU Track Team. Upon graduation, and after many experiences with my own body through injuries from throwing, Olympic style lifting, and intense training, I decided soft tissue bodywork was my calling. How perfect to have had such a great foundation in all things "human body" through my schooling and sport.  A beginning in structural bodywork seemed to be a brilliant fit, so I enrolled in Massage School. 14 months later I finished a 1200 hour Associates Degree of Therapeutic Massage at Heritage College in Oklahoma City.

Over the years, I have compiled many techniques and healing modalities including Deep Tissue, Myofacial Release, Passive Release, Active Release, Joint Mobilization Stretching, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Jin Shin Do, Sports, Lymphatic Drainage, Pre and Post Natal, and now Cupping Therapy, among others, to create a specialized session for your specific needs. I also believe it's very important to understand how we manifest our physical pain from negative emotions like stress, worry, shame, and guilt. I believe we have the power to change our life by changing our thought, coupled with Self-Care. As a wise Chiropractor/Healer once said, "There is no difference between the emotional body and the physical body but a label". What a great concept!

My session with you will be one of education, listening, communication, and healing. One thing I feel very strongly about is making sure you have a better understanding of your body and how it functions in your daily life as well as posing solutions to promote self-care when I am not with you. I want you to feel your best and to also have the tools you need to work on your own Self.

I have recently completed a training in Therapeutic Cupping and am now offering this service in addition to massage and bodywork. I am so excited to see how this modality of healing may better serve my client’s health and well-being.

I am a Parent Educator of Infant Massage through the International Association of Infant Massage and Infant Massage USA, (CEIM). I am, essentially, teaching parents bonding and attachment through nurturing touch, among so much more to empower them in the understanding that they are the expert of their baby. I fully believe that through this class, I am aiding in raising more compassionate and empathetic children. It’s just wonderful.

Also in the works is a class for adults to learn massage techniques to use at home on partners, friends, family, etc. This will also include the anatomy of touch and why it's important in all relationships. Stay tuned….

I was born in Carlsbad, NM with my twin brother, Josh. After living in Louisiana and then Oklahoma for the greater part of my life, I packed up and moved to Austin in February of 2006. Here in Austin, I have met many wonderful people and also am very happy to have family nearby, including my mother, Judy. I enjoy spending time with all of them, and of course my partner, Brian, and our cats Mingus and Coltrane. In my spare time, I enjoy hearing live music, camping, kayaking, hiking, cooking, meeting new people, and watching a good movie.

Of all the places I have lived, Austin just feels like home. I have enjoyed my time in Texas and look forward to the new adventures ahead with Living Anew Therapeutic Massage as well as all the new people I'll meet and may serve through my work.

                                                                                         - Much Gratitude!

The Spiral:  Symbolizes Life Cycles, Fertility, Intuition, Karma, a symbol of Change, Progression, and Development. It embraces these things as good and healthy and helps one to accept change. The Spiral helps consciousness to accept the turnings and changes of life as it evolves. The acceptance of change is one of the greatest freedoms a human can experience, putting consciousness in the present moment where the power of creation is condensed. On a larger scale, using this symbol assures all beings are reminded of their inward and outward evolution, a balanced and centered state of mind. On water, it carries the power to flow and change as water ripples in circles, is mutable, always changing, and has no permanence.
